What People are Saying

Clients who work with the Diabetes Dietitian, Marcia Pell, see results.

Marcia Pell helps them understand how they can control their diabetes and by knowing more than just about what to eat.

Read on to see what Marcia’s clients have to say about working with her.

Simply put, Marcia has been a godsend to Toni and me. After being diagnosed with Type II diabetes, I very quickly realized how little I knew about the disease. Toni had no idea how to prepare meals or what ingredients to use. We both knew that we wanted to formulate an aggressive plan to minimize the effects of this dangerous condition. Toni learned about Marcia’s program and we are so glad we elected to enlist her help. Besides being an extremely competent nutritionist, dietitian and diabetes expert, she is friendly, intelligent, anxious to help, a great listener, down to earth, able to explain diabetes related concepts in terms that are readily comprehensible, and she is very good at gently leading her clients toward their goals. If you have recently been diagnosed, I don’t recommend Marcia if you have no desire to make substantive changes in your lifestyle and hope to rely upon medication alone. However, if you are prepared to take your diagnosis seriously and are ready to take a pro-active role in your response, you simply can’t do better than making Marcia a part of your team.

~Toni and Bill, Panama City, FL

My experience with you has been most informative. I have used diabetic counselors before but never had one that was as “hands on” as you. Your knowledge, teaching skills, patience and encouraging attitude have changed my mind-set about having diabetes. You made me realize that changes I needed to make in my life were actually achievable. I can still have a moderate sweet dessert or an occasional “Snickers” bar without my blood sugar going out of bounds. You educated me on reading labels, serving sizes, and eating the proper foods, which are all the tools I needed to walk me through the steps, doable steps, tailored just for me. You have answered all my questions and clarified any doubts I have had concerning my diabetes. You have treated me as a person and not a patient, and your one-on-one teaching style has helped me personalize my way of thinking concerning my future health. Thank you for helping me get my life turned around and getting me back on a healthy track.

~Larry Busby, Ponce de Leon, FL

When I was first diagnosed with Diabetes I was terrified. My doctor put me on medication and sent me on my way. I didn’t know what next steps to take or where to turn. I started searching the Internet and came across Marcia’ s website and I am so thankful I did.
My husband and I went to her class together and we were so relieved that the changes I needed to make were not that hard. I didn’t have to slave away in the kitchen or give up eating out. Marcia really listened and understood our fears and was able to guide me and give me confidence to take steps to control my sugar.

~Courtney

Before I met with Marcia, my blood sugars were uncontrolled, usually too high, but then dropping too low with more insulin. I couldn’t figure out how to fix the problems. She made recommendations to help my situation, I learned to look at carbohydrates, have switched to newer insulin, and use a smart meter with her direct instruction. My sugars leveled out in a week! I feel normal again; much stronger than before. It’s so easy to quickly correct my sugars, with the correct advice, and now I have no more lows to worry about.

~Johnny Branch, Panama City, FL

I never thought I’d come away with so much from one meeting with you. All these years I’ve been reading and tried everything I could find but nothing made this much sense. You made it so easy to grasp. You’ve opened up a whole new world to me!

~Glendell Sellers, Panama City, FL

I love food! I’ve always eaten large portions of my favorite foods. My blood sugar has been too high for years but now I want to make changes. I don’t want to be old and disabled. I want to go and do. We learned so much during our session with you. My wife, who hates grocery shopping, even enjoyed going with me and we are planning meals and snacks. My blood sugar is really coming down.

~Mike Nettles, Panama City, FL

I like the way you break it down and explain what will help. You can explain things in ways I can understand. Doctors just said watch what you eat. Now my sugar is down and I feel so much better. Wonderful at what she does!

~Little Joe Cross, Bonifay, FL

I don’t compliment health workers very often but you are 500 times better than the one we had in Ohio. I like that you are down to earth and dealt with the different ways we eat.

~Sandy Barnes

Marcia was fabulous! We’ve learned a lot. She’s great at putting information into everyday terms that people can relate to. The handouts were on our level. My blood sugars are in control now.

~Joanne D

I just want to say thank you. No one has helped me as much as you have. My blood sugars are coming down. Everything is looking better and I feel better. I understand it so much better now.

~ William S

I’m so relieved to hear it’s not my fault! I just couldn’t figure out how I could cut out more food to bring my sugars down. I feel so much much better knowing I wasn’t eating something wrong. I didn’t think I was eating too much but I couldn’t figure out what else to do. I’ve learned so much today!

~Bonnie O

I wanted to be sure I was eating the right things (and also what to avoid). My health is very important and I am glad I met you. I feel more confident knowing I’m doing a lot right, and I am clear about what changes will make me healthier. You are a blessing! I can’t think of a better way to spend the money.
~Gloria Lovers, Panama City, FL
