Yes, it IS possible to control diabetes while living your busy life. I’ll work with you to make simple changes that will give you confidence and energy while preventing complications.
Being diagnosed with diabetes usually brings up lots of emotions.
- Fear.
- Guilt.
- Shame.
- Stress.
It can be scary and devastating when you receive that diagnosis and hear those 3 little words ….”you have diabetes”.
Even more scary if you know people who have suffered debilitating complications, you cannot help but wonder if the same is inevitable for you.
You may feel guilty and ashamed that you have diabetes. You may be thinking it’s your fault and that your weight or lifestyle caused it. Some people are scared to eat anything because they are no longer sure what is “safe” to eat.
Then you recall all the advice you have heard and read - some if it conflicting with others and this just makes you feel stressed out not knowing what to believe. You want to do the right thing but don’t know what exactly that is.
Perhaps you think there is no way you can do what you need to do to take care of yourself with diabetes.
That’s where I come in…
My name is Marcia Pell and I am the Diabetes Dietitian
I specialize in helping people just like you, people with diabetes, learn that it is possible to live a long and healthy life, despite having diabetes.
Managing and coping with your diabetes is also more than just what you eat…
There are many other factors that you need to know about in order to manage all aspects of your disease and your life. As a Certified Diabetes Educator, I also have special training around diabetes and understand the implications of not knowing about things like blood sugar levels, how sugars affect the body, foot care and more.
Why do I believe managing diabetes is more than just food and nutrition?
I saw first-hand how devastating uncontrolled diabetes can be. My first husband died of the complications less than 2 years after we got married.
But I am here to tell you that diabetes CAN be controlled and there aren’t many complications associated with controlled diabetes.
My experience working in a Diabetes Center for 16 years helped me learn much about diabetes and how to educate people about it. I’ve helped hundreds change their lives and transform how they approach life as a Diabetic. They have hope and feel confident that they know what to do. That makes my day!
Enjoy Life, don’t fear it.
