If you have diabetes and you want to do everything you can to prevent devastating complications, this class “Thriving with Diabetes” in Panama City, Florida is for you.
Finally, Get Clear on EXACTLY What to Do (and How to Do It), to Manage Your Diabetes Effectively.
You CAN prevent devastating diabetes-related complications … and live your absolute best, happiest life the way you want to. I’ll show you how.
If you have diabetes, you’ve probably noticed that there is a ton of conflicting information out there about the disease. It’s overwhelming, isn’t it?
Do any of the following sound familiar?
- Getting a diabetes diagnosis is life-changing, and you fear what the future holds.
- You want to do everything in your power to manage your diabetes but you have no idea where to start or what to do.
- Your diabetes is a ball and chain (insulin, blood sugar checks, carrying around the right kind of snacks, etc.), and it’s holding you back from living your life the way you want to.
- It seems so hard to eat “right.” Not only is there tons of conflicting information about diets for diabetes, but you also don’t have time to cook extravagant meals (and you definitely don’t want to give up all your favorites!).
- You wish there was a way to know what to eat to best manage your health.
- You have been on medication for a long time, and desperately want to get off it, but you’re unsure if you should and you don’t know how to do it safely.
- You shudder at the thought of using insulin, and fear the complications that come along with it (or the repercussion if you don’t use it).
- You don’t want to be a burden on your family and loved ones. You want to take control of your situation, so others don’t have to constantly worry about you.
If any of this resonates, I have great news:
You’re in exactly the right place right now, you’re SO not alone, and I can help!
When I was first diagnosed with Diabetes, I was terrified. My doctor put me on medication and sent me on my way. I didn’t know what next steps to take or where to turn. My husband and I went to Marcia’s class together and we were so relieved that the changes I needed to make were not that hard. I didn’t have to slave away in the kitchen or give up eating out. Marcia really listened and understood our fears and was able to guide me and give me confidence to take steps to control my sugar. – Courtney
Before I get into HOW I can help you, I’d like to tell you a bit more about me…. Because I understand exactly where you are right now.
I’m Marcia Pell, and I witnessed firsthand how devastating unmanaged diabetes can be. First, I watched my husband go blind. Then, wanting to do things his way, he didn’t realize how off his glucose levels were, and he was inconsistent with his medications.
At age 34, just under two years of being married, I became a widow.
Heartbroken, I grew fiercely determined to help others manage their diabetes effectively, so as to avoid the types of complications my husband experienced, and the outcome of those complications.
I started working with diabetes patients at a nearby hospital, and now, I am a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE), Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN), and Insulin Pump Trainer.
Combining 35 years’ experience as a RDN with 20 years’ experience educating people with diabetes, I’ve made it my life’s mission to take the guesswork out of diabetes management, so people can avoid life-threatening complications, and enjoy their life the way they want to, pending or after diagnosis.
Before I met with Marcia, my blood sugars were uncontrolled, usually too high, but then dropping too low with more insulin. I couldn’t figure out how to fix the problems. She made recommendations to help my situation. I learned to look at carbohydrates, have switched to newer insulin, and use a smart meter with her direct instruction. My sugars leveled out in a week! I feel normal again; much stronger than before. It’s so easy to quickly correct my sugars, with the correct advice, and now I have no more lows to worry about. – Johnny Branch, Panama City, FL
I like the way you break it down and explain what will help. You can explain things in ways I can understand. Doctors just said ‘watch what you eat’. Now my sugar is down and I feel so much better. Wonderful at what she does! – Little Joe Cross, Bonifay, FL

Session 1:
When you’re facing diabetes, you no doubt have questions. But there is SO much conflicting information out there (from doctors, experts, the internet), how do you know where to even start, let alone figure out exactly what to do to manage diabetes? You start here!
You discover …
- Which diabetes myths are just that—myths—so you don’t waste any more time or energy on things that aren’t true. (For example, should you completely stay away from bread (or everything white)? Do you need to totally avoid food that has natural sugars?)
- The difference between diabetes and pre-diabetes, so you know exactly where you stand now and what to do next.
- What to eat and when, so you don’t have to stress over meal planning any longer (and don’t worry, I’d never ask you to spend hours in the kitchen each day or to give up your favorite foods!).
- Why a diabetes diet is obsolete … and what that means for you!
- The key to using food as a tool for leveling out your glucose.
- And more.
BONUS: The “Why Do I Want to Manage Diabetes?” Worksheet
Session 2:
This is where we dive deep into the “nitty-gritty” of diabetes – the details that will make it simpler to manage symptoms in your everyday life.
You discover …
- The importance of eating “mindfully,” so you know exactly what’s going into your body and you can enjoy your food more, (while possibly losing weight).
- How to stay active as part of your diabetes management (including specific guidelines and goals).
- How to set SMART goals, so you can stay on track toward effectively managing diabetes.
- How to master the art of carb-counting and glucose monitoring, so you have more flexibility and don’t spend nearly as much time wondering if you’re doing it right.
- And more.
My experience with you has been most informative. I have used diabetic counselors before but never had one that was as “hands on” as you. Your knowledge, teaching skills, patience and encouraging attitude have changed my mind-set about having diabetes. You made me realize that changes I needed to make in my life were actually achievable.
I can still have a moderate sweet dessert or an occasional “Snickers” bar without my blood sugar going out of bounds. You educated me on reading labels, serving sizes, and eating the proper foods, which are all the tools I needed to walk me through the steps, doable steps, tailored just for me.
You have answered all my questions and clarified any doubts I have had concerning my diabetes. You have treated me as a person and not a patient, and your one-on-one teaching style has helped me personalize my way of thinking concerning my future health. Thank you for helping me get my life turned around and getting me back on a healthy track. – Larry Busby, Ponce de Leon, FL
Session 3:
As you begin to learn how to thrive with your diabetes, we’ll focus on making sure you know how to implement everything you’re learning, consistently. This includes all things medication and ways to become empowered to make informed choices and decisions about your health!
You discover …
- How to continuously review and adjust your SMART goals, to keep you on track long term.
- Creative ways to cut calories, lose weight, and improve how your body responds to insulin.
- Coping and stress-management techniques to minimize the worry, exhaustion, and second-guessing that often comes with disease management (because stress raises blood sugar).
- Everything you need to know about medications, so you can get the most benefit from them.
- And more.
Session 4:
This last class will come full circle, covering every last bit of information you will need to know to manage diabetes. When these classes end, life will continue, and you must have all the tools in your pocket to remain healthy and manage your disease.
You discover …
- How to maintain the changes you begin implementing over the long haul, so you don’t end up back where you started.
- Guidelines for food choices when you’re out and about or on the run, so you always have good, healthy choices.
- One key to successful diabetes management (without this one thing, you significantly increase your chances of experiencing overwhelm).
- How to take care of yourself (specifically, of your feet, and eyes, and especially when you’re sick).
- The critical numbers to watch: weight, A1C, blood pressure, and cholesterol, and what you’re looking for.
- And more.
